Originally known as the Volkart Building and later renamed the Beaumont Building, this structure, now called P&O Plaza, has stood on Karachi's trading landscape since 1861. It served as the local office for the Volkart Brothers, a major trading company dealing in cotton, tea, oil, and spices. Over the decades, the building has witnessed the rise and fall of colonial commerce and the daily workings of traders and clerks. Today, P&O Plaza remains a rare surviving example of Karachi's commercial colonial past, quietly marking the passage of time in a city constantly transforming.
