Standing gracefully on Muhammad Ali Jinnah Road in Karachi's historic Kharadar district, the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) Building is a striking colonial landmark near the Native Jetty Bridge and Merewether Clock Tower. Designed by George Wittet, its construction began in 1912 and was completed in 1916 as a grand statement to welcome visitors arriving at the Port of Karachi. Briefly transformed into a military hospital during World War I, the building has since witnessed the city's shifting tides while retaining its stately charm,a quiet sentinel of Karachi's maritime past.
