Located in the Civil Lines area of Karachi, Edward House was designed in 1910 by the renowned Iraqi-Jewish architect Moses Somake and named after his son, Ellis Edward. Built with local Gizri sandstone and limestone, its detailed ornamental mouldings reflect early 20th-century craftsmanship. Once home to the famous Café Grand, visited by the likes of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the building holds layers of Karachi's cultural and social history. Restored in 2012, it stands today as a protected heritage site under the Sindh Cultural Preservation Act.
